Everyone can enter a state of hypnosis if they allow themselves, and it is impossible for anyone to be hypnotized if they do not want to be hypnotized. You alone have the choice to allow this resource to be part of your tool box and improve your ability to work with your mind.
One of the best uses of hypnosis is to feel better about yourself and to feel more safe and secure, to change your perspective and belief about how you interpret life.
Here is an easy way to use hypnosis for yourself. Next time you are feeling stressed or fearful, see where it is in your body, is it in your stomach, neck, where do you feel the stress or fear. I usually feel it as a tightening in my stomach.
Many people feel stress or fear when they wake up in the middle of the night, or even when they wake up in the morning. When this happens to you, just notice whatever unpleasant scenario you are imagining (thinking of) in your mind, and think of it more. Watch how your body reacts, physically, and let it grow so that you feel the physical tightening and discomfort even more. Allow yourself to feel the sensations fully and pinpoint the location in your body.
Next, imagine something that makes you feel safe, and let your mind absorb that image. The more you see and feel what you are picturing in your mind that makes you feel safe, the more you will notice new and different sensations in your body. Try it.
Here is an example. If you are worried about money, and you feel tightness in your stomach and a sinking feeling, imagine having a giant duffle bag of cash. Inside the bag, you have 1 million dollars or more and a pocket full of diamonds. This is your bag, and no one can take it from you. Just let the imagery get more clear and watch how your body relaxes. Go into the feeling more deeply until you are completely there with the bag of money and diamonds. Let yourself feel the safety and security that it gives you.
Now you have a tool for feeling safe about your financial and material security and well-being that you can use whenever you need to. And it will work for anything, just change the imagery to create the opposite feeling of the fear or concern you have. Play around with it, have fun. It is an incredible resource that we all have and you will be surprised how well it works.
